First implanted in 1989

Unlike the All-on-4 method, which is performed using a traditional approach, the procedure involving zygoma implants can only be carried out by dentists who possess exceptional surgical skill and the necessary training to master this complex surgical and prosthetic method for treating edentulism. But when were these implants created? While scientists around the world were trying to find ways to augment the jawbone in individuals who had experienced resorption, Dr Per-Ingvar Brånemark discovered that the zygomatic bone or cheekbone has the density, quality, and sufficient volume to support implant placement, and his research was thus directed toward implanting in this bone.
