Implants without bone.
When there is not enough bone for a conventional implant, there are still solutions that lead to fixed teeth. We perform rare techniques that few practices carry out.
Bone loss does not have to mean the end of the story.
After a tooth is extracted, or after years without teeth, the jaw bone recedes. Many practices then turn treatment down or call for lengthy bone grafting. We first look at the CBCT scan and search for anchorage where bone is still present, often without extensive augmentation.
You have been told you do not have enough bone for a conventional implant.
Years without teeth or pronounced atrophy of the upper jaw.
You do not want lengthy bone grafting and months of waiting.
A removable denture does not suit you and you want a fixed solution.
Four routes to fixed teeth without bone grafting.
Which method is right is decided only after an examination and a 3D analysis. Each has its place and its limits, and we are honest about both.
Zygoma implants
Longer implants anchored in the cheekbone instead of the jaw bone, for severe bone loss in the upper jaw.
Pterygoid implants
Anchorage in the back of the jaw, often as an alternative to a sinus lift and grafting.
Subperiosteal implants
An individually made frame that rests on the bone, when placement inside the bone is not possible.
All-on-4 / All-on-6
A whole arch on four to six tilted implants that make use of the bone you still have, fixed teeth as a rule within 24 hours.
From scan to fixed teeth.
CBCT and assessment
A 3D scan shows how much bone you have and where. We tell you honestly whether a technique is possible, and which one.
Guided planning
We plan the position of the implants digitally, for the precision and safety of the procedure.
The procedure under sedation
If you wish, you can sleep through the procedure. In suitable cases, a temporary fixed bridge the same day.
Recovery and check-ups
DENTAL SPA protocols speed up healing. We make the final restoration once healing is complete.
Figures from peer reviewed literature, not promises.
- 96.2%ZygomaA systematic review and meta-analysis of zygomatic implants reported a mean implant survival of 96.2% at an average of about six years of follow-up.1
- 99%+All-on-4For the All-on-4 concept, a systematic review reports implant survival above 99% after more than 24 months of follow-up.2
- 95.2%Long termFor zygomatic implants, a twelve-year cumulative survival of 95.2% has also been described, with most failures occurring in the first six months.3
Dr. Trampuš was the first to introduce and place zygomatic implants in everyday clinical practice in Croatia and the region, and he has the longest continuous clinical experience with this technique. Techniques without bone belong to demanding implantology and call for a team experienced in exactly such cases, so every plan starts with an honest assessment, not a promise.
What patients ask most often.
Can I have fixed teeth if I have been told I have no bone?
In a great many cases, yes. Zygoma, pterygoid and subperiosteal implants are anchored outside the worn part of the jaw. Whether that is possible for you in particular is something we establish with an examination and a CBCT scan.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is done under local anaesthetic, and under sedation if you wish, so you can sleep through it. DENTAL SPA protocols make the post-operative course easier.
When do I get my teeth?
In suitable patients we fit a temporary fixed bridge as a rule within 24 hours. We make the final structure once healing is complete.
How much does it cost?
The price depends on the technique, the number of implants and the extent of the work, so we set it only after an examination. The first examination and assessment are free.
