Across a range of procedures, ozone was linked to better periodontal response, improved soft tissue healing after implant surgery and less discomfort afterwards. The honest picture is more restrained. A 2024 systematic review of ozone for decay in children&#039;s baby teeth found mixed results: ozone performed comparably to other options in some respects, but the reviewers found no firm evidence that it was better than conventional care, and could not recommend it as a replacement. They allowed that it may still be a helpful minimally invasive choice for young or anxious patients who struggle with standard treatment.<sup>3<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>So if you have an active cavity, ozone is not a way to avoid a filling.
